Acupuncture is one aspect of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) that

focuses on restoring the energy balance in the body to promote healing.

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been used in Eastern

cultures for over 5,000 years. The practice focuses on promoting healing and restoring

the energy balance in the body . It can be used as a form of preventive medicine or as

an ongoing treatment to manage chronic conditions.

The acupuncture points ae along “meridians”, which are believed to be energy

channels that transmit energy throughout the body. Different conditions that can be

treated are:

• arthritis and degenerative joint disease
• intervertebral disc disease and nerve pain
• recovery after surgery
• metabolic conditions
• trauma
• skin conditions
• gastrointestinal problems
• seizures

It is always recommended to have 3 to 5 sessions to see a difference. Chronic

conditions will need to be treated longer. Maintenance is always recommended and

depends on the horses needs.

Spinal manipulation for horses focuses on the manual adjustment of the spine and

joints. Proper alignment achieved through these adjustments can lead to better mobility,

function, and comfort for the horse. This is important to restore balance and alignment,

ensuring proper body function. Myofascial Release, targets fascial tension, the

connective tissue around muscles, addressing restricted movement and compensatory

patterns following injuries.

Tui Na is is a therapeutic technique that centers on restoring balance and nurturing

well-being through massage. It is a therapeutic method that combines various massage

techniques to revitalize the body’s energy flow. This approach is grounded in the belief

that maintaining the balance of vital energy, known as Qi, is essential for overall health.

It complements acupuncture and spinal manipulation

A class 3 laser, Activet, is available to use during the visit or to rent to be used for long term use.  Laser therapy is used to  reduce pain and inflammation, accelerate healing of damaged tissues, relax muscles and stimulate nerve generation.  It also heals wounds faster than without treatment, reduces joint and muscle pain and alleviates arthritis.
